Welcome to Year 3 Summer Term 24-25
In DT this week, we have been designing our castles that we are then going to create. We looked at what materials we are going to use as well as what 3D shapes we might include to build the tower and curtain walls for our castle. We then had a go at creating some of our designs using nets.
This week, we got to try fencing in PE. We learnt about how we score points and what safety equipment is needed in a game. We had a lot of fun as it was the first time many of us had tried fencing before.
In Maths this week, we have started our new topic of money. We enjoyed a practical lesson using the coins to make different amount and solving some tricky problems together in pairs.
Year 3 and 4 Visit Beamish
Year 3 and 4 have had a fantastic day visiting Beamish. They loved taking part in a workshop about the development of the safety lamp, exploring the 1950's and 1900's. They even had time to fit in an ice cream and a little play in the park. We would like to thanks Washington Rotary Club for such a fantastic day!

In the last week of Summer 1, we created our castles in DT. We had to think about the structure and how we would create the castle walls, the turrets and the battlements.
